The song that marked me the most in this first mixtape was Ashes by Zanias. Ashes is a song that was written in the memory of Ahmed Al Najjan and dedicated to all of the children who were murdered during this genocide.
The song is calm yet uncanny at the same time. It perfectly matched the atmosphere of the mixtape. Zanias’ ethereal voice is melodious. It almost sounds like a lullaby on the surface, but it’s more of a mournful song with violent lyrics. We can feel the emotions in this piece, the sadness and the grief are palpable. This song is not only a tribute; It is also a harrowing testimony of the abject horrors of this genocide, a questioning of our humanity and empathy. « How can it be a human finger on the trigger? »
A second mixtape was released on 6th September 2025 with 31 songs.

« The Monuments Are Collapsing » by the band Two Witches is my favorite track from this second compilation . It’s a captivating goth rock song , wraped in a dark and uptempo atmosphere . Where a theatrical sing elevate it self with power . The keyboard’s melody is asymmetrical and rich in inspiration from the 90’s rock music , it transport us into a fascinating world . The song talk about the falling of our society with a catching intensity while encouraging us to rebellion. « Action , reaction , resistance » While listening carefully, I was amused to notice that this song have a little hint of « Who Do Voodoo » by the Hex Girls ! The Monuments Are Collapsing is a light hearted piece but at the same time heavy by it’s meaning, it almost feels cathartic.
I was also very pleased and surprised to discover a French band in this compilation: Potochkine with their song l’Intelligible! Interpreted in Molière’s language (French). This song is a real work of art! The voice, both spoken and sung, blossoms in an extraordinary way on an electro-darkwave melody that creates an immersive and bewitching atmosphere that transports us far. This piece is a captivating poem, almost in prose, with deeply committed lyrics that will surely appeal to slam poetry fans.
These two mixtapes are a real pleasure to listen to, each artist transports us into their own universe. It’s perfect to discover goth music and its different faces. The playlist is diverse; We can find a lot of genres such as post punk, goth rock, coldwave, darkwave, etc. The chairwoman of this project is Suzie Sabotage, she herself contributed to this project with 2 songs: I Am the Storm in the first volume and Sacrifice that we can find in Goths for Palestine volume 2.
Goths for Palestine is not just a music compilation, it’s proof that the rebellion against genocide still exists. Together we can contribute to making a positive change in this society. Even on a small scale, it still matters. When I listened to these songs, I encountered the real definition of artists.
All the funds of these two compilations will go to Anera. It’s an association that help victims of this genocide, and all the refugees around the world (mostly in Lebanon and Jordan). Anera gives emergency help and support in health, education and economic development.
